Pool Heaters

Here in south Florida, we can enjoy our swimming pools for a longer season than almost anywhere else in the country.  Unlike up north, we do not empty pools and close them for 6 – 8 months per year.

However, that doesn’t mean that they’re comfortable to swim in during the winter.

Now, the good news: It doesn’t have to be that way.

Pool heaters are affordable, reliable, and safe.  An electric heater – known as a heat pump – is economical and will allow you, your family, and your guests to enjoy your pool twelve months a year.  Once turned on, the heat pump will increase the pool water temperature by about 1 degree per hour until it gets to the perfect temperature.  A gas heater will heat your pool at a faster rate, but is slightly more expensive, and requires a gas supply.  If you often need to heat the pool quickly, it can be an effective alternative.  Another option is a solar powered heater.  Pool heaters work only when the main pool pump is running, as the water must actively pass through the heater to warm up.

Heaters last for years, and come with a variety of options.  Some can be turned on by remote control, allowing a warm pool to be ready and waiting when you return home from work, or even an extended time away from Florida.  There are several brands, sizes, and price levels to choose from, ensuring that you will receive the exact equipment that’s perfect for you and your pool.

Finally, please remember that your pool is one of the most valuable assets contributing to your home’s value.A pool heater will increase that value, as well as your personal enjoyment of the pool.  It’s one of those rare ‘win-win’ situations.
